Behavioural Risk @ NatWest

// about

I am a behavioural scientist and academic interested in how beliefs about the world — and our motivation to explore it — emerge from the ways in which we learn. My research sits at the intersection of decision neuroscience, behavioural economics, and computational modelling.

Using online experiments, neuroimaging, computational models, and field studies, I study the decisions people make and the neurobiology that gives rise to them. A recurring theme in my work is the question of how and why we update our beliefs — sometimes rationally, and sometimes not. I frequently guest lecture in decision-making at UCL, The London School of Economics and London City University.

Before joining UEA, I was a Sir Henry Wellcome Research Fellow at Oxford University and Princeton University, and a UCL IMPACT Scholar in Experimental Psychology at the Affective Brain Lab. I previously sat on the editorial board at Nature Communications Psychology.

Alongside my academic work, I apply behavioural science to financial risk at NatWest. I have written about my research for Aeon Magazine, The Conversation, and NBC.
